Coronavirus

  • Scot

I recently just finished my flight training and was looking forward to becoming a flight instructor. I took my last checkride on February 28th and I secured my instructor job in March. However, due to the measures we have taken as a country to slow the spread of the Coronavirus my start date for becoming an instructor has been delayed for a minimum of 2 months. This has been an immense disappointment to me because I am very excited to start teaching others to fly. I was not the typical student at flight school that had been dreaming of becoming a pilot since as early as they could remember. It was nowhere near my radar of something I thought I would enjoy, but learning to fly has been one of the best things I have ever done. Transforming into a pilot is a once in a lifetime experience, and it is an experience that you can have too!

With the awkward timing of finishing flight school and waiting to work due to the unprecedented changes that the Coronavirus has brought, I decided that I did not have to wait to become an instructor. I could use the skills and knowledge that I have gained and share it here. I plan to use this platform to share what I have learned during the process of getting my pilot certificates, to let others know what it is like, and to continue to learn from others in the community about becoming a better pilot.
